Kimberli's Place Foundation raise funds to help support our community for Mental Health Services...
ALL PROCEEDS benefit our community!
Heather is our Founder & President of Kimberli's Place Foundation, Inc. She gained a huge purpose after the loss of her friend, son's teacher, and an amazing mentor to her children. She did not want to sit in the despair of grief and not do anything. After receiving the devastating news that Kimberli had ended her life, this is when she established Kimberli's Place in January 2021.
She received her BA in Psychology from Wingate University and her M.Ed. with a Trauma Informed Certification from Appalachian State University. During her degree time she interned with Department of Social Services in Union County, NC. After much research and direct impact, she saw the gaps needing to be bridged in our community for mental health support.
Her passion is to ensure no one has to face life's challenges, transitions, and temporary stages alone. There is support available with many others that want to help plant HOPE in our community.
Laura is our Vice President of Kimberli's Place Foundation. She has been directly affected by the loss of her friend, Kimberli. With many years of the lack of support, and limited resources in the community for her child that suffered with mental health issues, she wanted to advocate for herself and her family.
As a hairstylist, she has be given the opportunity to create a safe space for her clients to open up and often sees the need to extend her knowledge of resources that helped her through her own journey. She brings an educational background in Psychology and adds support to the foundation in her experience from her families story.
She recently has been given the opportunity to work in direct contact with Levine's Children's Hospital to provide free services to the children and their families during their rehabilitation. Her purpose within the foundation is to break the stigma about mental health and allow everyone the understanding that you do not have to go through it alone. There is hope for everyone.
Sarah is our Director of Kimberli’s Place Foundation. Born and raised in Wisconsin, she moved south in 2019 and landed in Union County, NC in 2023. Sarah received her Bachelors of Science degree in Social Work with a minor in Criminal Justice in 2016.
In Wisconsin, Sarah was a Child Protective Social Worker specializing in reunification of families when the children had been placed outside of the home. Sarah joins Kimberli’s Place Foundation having experience with families facing hardships and assisting them in emotionally,
physically, and mentally managing situations that had once broken their family.
The thing that drove Sarah to love her career in Social Work is every day being able to be the light and constant in someone’s life - from the young and innocent children, to the parents that
desperately needed guidance. "Every child, and adult, is ONE caring person away from a success story"
Stephanie is our Secretary of Kimberli’s Place Foundation. She is a local to Indian Trail NC, and has lived in Union County her whole life. Her joy and passion for life is her family and family pets.
Looking across the football field of Sun Valley High School into the distance of farm land, she never imagined owning her own small business in the area. In 2008 she opened Imagez Salon in Indian Trail, where her focus is giving her clients a place to relax, be pampered, and receive a quality salon service in a eclectic atmosphere. As a stylist of over 30 years, Stephanie has a leadership program, mentoring young stylists making their entrance into the world of Cosmetology. Teaching the future generation and inspiring them to love, enjoy, and take pride in their career choice.
Joining Kimberli's Place Foundation is a joy and passion not only for herself, but her hopes of sharing support for those needing a little extra sunshine and understanding in their life. She supports the foundation's focus that our mental health is important and is not given the time and attention it deserves.
Dawn is our Fundraising Coordinator and Treasurer of Kimberli's Place Foundation. She was born, raised, and spent most of her life in Wisconsin. She brings a wealth of experience with her. After relocating to North Carolina in 2023, Dawn was eager to get involved in her new community.
From a young age, Dawn immersed herself in the banking industry, where her passion for numbers and helping others achieve financial freedom quickly became evident. With a natural talent for working with figures, she now serves as an Accounting Training Specialist for an automotive software company. Dawn is a well-known figure in her Wisconsin community. She volunteered with the local fire department, participated in numerous city-sponsored events, and offered her services to local businesses in her town. Additionally, she remains a Board Member for a Childhood Cancer Foundation located in Wisconsin.
